Optical shop

It's been months I have fallen fuzzy to see things with my glasses.I thought it's quite dangerous especially when I were driving a car. As a result, I decided to  go to a optical shop nearby, named 光明分子, which I found on the internet.

When I arrived there, there was a staff who was pretty and professional. She helped me to make choices although I knew she just wanna be the best saleswoman. I bought a pair of glasses, costed $3400. It's not very good deal but I'd rather trust her that this one would be stronger and clearer than the one I were wearing. The sparse glasses I had them be my secondary ones for playing basketball.

Daxi

I went to a department store, Mega City (大遠百), to eat Dim Sum in a famous restaurant, Din-Tai-Fung (鼎泰豐) with my niece and 2 friends from Kaohsiung. This time was all of our first time to try. It's well-known expensive.

The foods there were all really awesome...tasty. However my niece just tried a little bit soup and that's it. It's hard to treat her cus she is too fussy about food. As a result I had to buy dessert such as mister donuts for her after lunch...

Afterwards, we went to Daxi Township in Taoyuan County. The first scenic spot was skywalk (天空步道). We were the last visitors there cus we were so late. It's almost 5pm and it closes every day at exactly 5 pm.

I reserved for entering here. It's a policy for visitors to watch. Reserve on the internet 2-3 days before you go and pay $50 per each person.

When we finished overlooking from this spectacular skywalk, I drove to a famous street, Daxi Historical Street in downtown of Daxi. We tasted a lot of foods there and they were all good experiences.

 

I hoped my friends had enjoyed this trip in Taipei.

薛仁貴傳奇

問世間情為何物...

跟家人看電視時不小心看到這部電影, "薛仁貴傳奇"。 結果, 他竟然不是電影, 而是電視劇, 意猶未盡的我, 用PPS在一個晚上內翻看完畢這個大陸劇, 而感受最深的, 就是薛仁貴與昭陽公主的愛情故事。

昭陽公主是渤遼渤建王的千金, 兩國之間(與唐朝)很友好。我看到時是公主偶然又碰到火頭軍的領袖, 薛仁貴(曾經救過她, 但不知其身分為公主), 並且很主動的問到薛大哥的背景, 很不幸的, 對公主來說, 當她聽到薛大哥已有妻小, 充滿煩惱。因為她很喜歡眼前這位帥氣, 勇敢, 俠義, 武藝高強的大哥。

薛仁貴戰功赫赫, 在救駕(唐太宗)成功後,皇上決定促成他一對良緣, 就是昭陽公主。薛仁貴答應了, 但不是很開心, 因為他依然惦記著家鄉10多年未見的妻子, 他怕她會傷心。公主了解薛大哥的難處, 也甘願做小, 但無奈薛仁貴還是百般勉強。但其實他自己也很清楚, 他是喜歡公主的, 但就是用情很專一, 無法不經過妻子同意下,貿然做決定。

怎知, 公主傷心欲絕, 竟然...出家了。

後來, 薛仁貴為奸人所害, 罪及致死, 帶髮修行中的公主雖然擔心,但心意堅決, 不予理會, 直到...采兒與周青拿假的骨灰罈騙她, 公主這才顯露出後悔與懊惱, 但為時尚未晚, 他們就一同下山去就薛仁貴。為了薛仁貴, 大家勞心勞力, 公主甚至負傷。善體人意的薛仁貴妻子也是深受感動, 主動告知丈夫應好好對待貴為一國公主的昭陽, 透露出一同服侍薛仁貴的雅量, 九死一生的薛仁貴, 也才終於接受。

這兩位愛的好辛苦, 但結局是相當美的, 即便古人男人可以納妾, 但是薛仁貴的用情之專真是出乎人意料。

Wisdom

I wanna say thank you. He takes care of me a lot for many years in my life. Recently I got a job from him. Yes, he is kinda my manager but indeed we are more like friends. We play basketball, eat lunch, and work together. This is not the best company nor the best choice in my other 4 job candidates. However this time, I choice him instead of job itself.

I trust him and appreciate this chance. And really thank you for giving the greatest opportunity for me, elder brother.

Nowadays, I workout after work cus I've fallen sick in my body for a long time and it seems getting worse. Thankfully, there is a gym in this company. So I work hard in the day time and exercise at around 6:30 pm  periodically in order to get my health back. I stop overworking too much. I really hope I could fulfill my life healthily. I know I need time to recovery my body and to warm up to design some programs. He creates the time for me very patiently and kindly. So I also wanna take this chance and give the best return for him and for myself.

I also hope my parents could get retired much earlier. I'm doing my best to balance my life and make dream come true. Sometimes I prey to God for getting some blessings.  Maybe I'm not smart enough. It's enough to have some wisdom people surround me.

I think I'm lucky for God's sake.

Where Is My Way ?

As you can see, I remember that I was so afraid of the way in front of me when I was there. There are no friends, nor stores, nor nice views around but dangerous sound and road, even plants. However I still kept moving cus I don't wanna return as a coward. Probably I'll see any animal I've never seen before. If I am lucky enough, I would see beautiful lakes or peaks sooner or later, wouldn't me ? Keep moving and then I'll see. In other words,

This is my future.

A Joke From My Niece

Niece: Uncle, do you wanna know a joke ?
Me: Sure.
Niece: There is a monster, hiding in a cave. The other way, there is a cat looking for the monster...
Me: hum hum...
Niece: When the cat got the monster, the monster said "The King sent you here to find me?"
Niece: Uncle, do you know what the cat said ?
Me: Say what?
Niece: 「嘿阿！」(台語)

Me: I think it's very interesting. :P

But when I posted this joke to FB, just few people understand me cus the scenario is hard to describe clearly. The point is this story made by my niece who is only 7 years old. I expected a very funny result but instead I got just a short point of funny part. Whatever, I still started to laugh. kkkk

First Day

Finally, my life has moved to a new one. It's my first day in the new company. I felt a little bit excited though it's a bad raining day. I had a lunch with Sun. 

I also knew other 2 new employees while I got registered in the main building of the company called Technology Building. They seemed very professional and experienced at their jobs but I didn't exactly know what I should do here instead.

I hope everything would be fine and I can adapt here very soon.

Trip In Taoyuan

Today was so busy cus I made 2 reservations for traveling with my family. The first was 後慈湖 and the other one was 天空步道. I thought I won't go these 2 places again. There weren't very worthwhile to go or stay for a long time.

The only good thing was hang out with parents, niece, and my sister.

Before we arrived at home, we went to see a doctor to cure my Mom's wrist and my back. He is like an angel, helping people, saving life, and give patients correct concepts for dealing with our own bodies.

3C Market

I went to 3C market, 光華數位新天地, with my cousin to kill some time. That meant I could take a look at some auto stuffs like car GPS/SmartPhone holder and a cigar lighter with 2 more sockets extended and 2 USB sockets. I'd started to be very worried about the quality of the stuffs after I bought them.

Made in China. Sigh...

Ttraditional Hand Puppet Movie

I watched new Pili movie series with my brother in front of a new 32" LED TV. It's been years since we did last time. The new TV has a HDMI input so that I could connect to my computer and play it by a hot pluggin CD-ROM.

It's a good feeling that enjoy watching Taiwanese traditional famous puppet movie with my family. Btw, 一頁書 died again but I know he is always as alive as 素還真.

Homemade Soy Milk

I went to traditional market to buy black soy beans (黑豆) and GM-free soy beans (非基因改造黃豆). The first try we only put 黑豆 in this machine and got very deep and nature black soy milk drink after 30 mins.

The second try I mixed with 3 ingredients such as black soy beans, soy beans, and rices. The same I waited for 30 mins, taking it out, putting a little honey and...do you know how tasty it was. It's fantastic. I loved it so much.

The most of the important things is it's very healthy if you choose the right beans.

Diablo III

My first time to play this game, Diablo III. It's really amazing in regards to its fantastic characters, weapons, movie effects, skill effects, sparkles, and particularly its attractive story. In the beginning I just wanted try a little in order to understand its UI, Layout, the way to play, speciality and some features. But now, I can't wait to play again until I finish its story.

I chose Monk as my first character.

Brother

I stayed at home with my 3-year-younger brother all day. We used to play games together before but we hardly did since we got older. Today I just watched him playing online game called "League of Legends" or LOL in simple. And then watched youtube videos about TPA's couple matches of LOL and Sen's ones of Starcraft II together.

It seemed very boring to do such kind of things at home but it really meant a lot for me. I also cooked for him, hoping him eat more food with more energy and nutrition, not just instant noodles instead.

Maybe I really had nothing to do, I couldn't believe I washed the dished and trays in the kitchen. I meant I was supposed to do it very often before, however, I didn't. My Mom's hands' conditions weren't very good so I should help here much more often than before. I promise, I will.

I love my family.

On Sale

My Mom bought a soy milk maker, 九陽豆漿機. It costed $5290, same as the price on internet. So afterwards, we could make very healthy soy milk with less sugar after buying soy beans. In addition, she bought a microwave with an auto-senser-heating function and in bigger size around 25L. We got 10% off discount because of the opening at 全國電子.

The last, Mom also bought a 32" LED TV of Heran tied in sale of a big speaker at 愛買, costed $14,xxx. I checked the comments on internet after home and found its quality wasn't stable. I hoped this one will be cus this was our first time to buy Taiwanese brand TV.

IGX

I had a lunch at MOS with my previous IGX friends, Sun, 方丈, 啟森 and a new friend who is very good at 3D programming, 阿周伯. We just gossiped, talking about games and bumbler IGX. We all have a dream to make our own game in the future. It's hard but you won't get it if don't start to do or to change.

Afterwards, we played a dota-like game, tank. It's a home made map on WarCraft III of Blizzard. We had very fun battling with each other. We should make this kind of game easier in the future.

I don't know why they like play remote control car so much.

Keelung

It's a dramatic day. My home came my sister's boy friend who was allowed to enter since they have had a relationship. It's hard to tell what is right or wrong. This is what love shows all the time.

Mom wanted to go to a temple, 道玄宮 in Keelung so we drove 2 cars to there with my little brother who hasn't had good sleep yesterday. Hence he slept in the car on the way to there and back. We guys just prayed something like safety, health, and good life in front of God at the temple. Hope my Mom will get blessings from the God and get over it very soon.

Accident

My Mom broke her wrist at 3 am. She's supposed to work after my little brother. Today when she got up, she knew my little brother was still sleeping so she got in a hurry to the working location with my Dad. Once they just arrived there and my Mom wanted to get off the motorcycle immediately. Suddenly and unfortunately she got hooked on her pant and in consequence she fell down, using her hand to lift herself. Afterwards, I got call at 3 am while I was suffering from getting annoyed by a mosquito.

30 minutes later I arrived at Emergency Room in a hospital with my parents. My Mom got a X-Ray picture towards her wrist and luckily the doctor said she just needed have her wrist fixed by a plaster cast without a surgery. My Mom needs take a rest for at least 6 weeks and then everything would be fine definitely.

I got a deep sleep after finishing breakfast at home. It's a long morning.

Interview

Actually it's not an interview, it's a Q&A time with HR staff after I finished English exam and filled in the form of my personal info. I asked a lot about salary, welfare, bonus, performance evaluation, insurance, OPEN-LiFE, working time, leaves, training, English lessons, etc. Thank you, Mency, for answering me so clearly and sincerely.

Btw, I was surprised at my English's getting worse so quickly, though I still got more than 600 scores.

In the afternoon, I went to Shulin to arrange my skeleton by a pharmacy doctor. It's so amazing that he said he learned by himself and he just likes to help people so just charges a little money for each cure.

Mission Complete

MOD: for my Dad to watch sport programs, for my niece to watch cartoon programs, for myself to watch English programs. We also got a free home wifi. I think I can keep using data service on my mobile phone with only 500MB quota per month. Oh yeah ~

EDR(行車記錄器): to prevent some bad guys from making fake car accidents, I bought the first EDR for my family. But the size of screen is quite small and the quality of video is low.

Job: I've made a choice.

Kaohsiung

左營自助新村, it's a famous "Military Dependents’ Villages" in Taiwan. I've visited the other two before, 彩虹眷村 and 四四南村, respectively. I like this one the most because of its big area and creative paintings, drawings, and decorations. I just stayed here for an hour because my friends seemed to avoid taking photos together and it's very strange. They are a couple for sure and obviously they're having a cold war between each other so they didn't like taking photos. That's really embarrassed, especially when I yielded to tell them to take a picture together.

In my mind, I wanna say "stop arguing" to my friends. To maintain a good marriage relationship isn't easy so plz listen to your partner carefully and find a solution for each discussion. The magic will happen.

One more thing, yesterday was my first time to eat 老四川 which is very famous restaurant for spicy foods and was treated by my good friends, a young couple. His wife asked me the main feelings about my trip in Canada for around half an year. And I just felt Taiwan sucks which meant Taiwanese people aren't competitive. Compare to Korean people, it's a huge difference. Korea is very strong in the world now and the reason is they've tried very hard for a long time. I acquainted some Korean friends in Canada and I could tell they studied English since very young and spent a lot of money to learn English and moreover, the Korean companies only choose graduated students with good English skills. As a result, Korean companies are so competitive that Taiwanese couldn't catch up with them.

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday. I'm lucky 7.

My family celebrated my niece's birthday. This creative cake was bought by her Dad, my little brother. And I ordered 2 big size of pizzas. Sooner came my aunt, uncle, and cousin. We all felt very excited, esp. we hardly had this kind of party in the past. To be pity, my sister couldn't join us because her bf wasn't allowed to enter this house.

The cake and the pizza were very tasty. Hope she enjoyed her 7-year-old birthday. I'll show this photo for her when she gets old. :P

I left home at around 1pm to Kaohsiung in order to visit my good friends, a young couple.

Malt Syrup

自製麥芽糖餅乾，不會很厚工，但會搞得到處黏黏的。配方如下:一罐麥芽糖漿跟餅乾，把糖漿塗抹在兩片餅乾之中，很簡單吧。餅乾一包30，麥芽糖一罐60，如果直接去市場買做好的大概要150，所以老爸老媽才打算買來自己搞看看。還不錯玩，畢竟麥芽糖是比較健康的糖，拿來當零嘴吃起來比較安心點。

說真的，老爸老媽的感情真的越來越好了，老來融洽，大不易阿:P

Sweet

My Mom and Dad washed dishes and preparing fruits together in front of the sink. I looked at their backs and thought they were just like new couples. Know what ? I was feeling very happy at that moment. Hope you all love each other forever.

I applied for MOD service today and by accident found out we've paid this service without working since 2005. What the hell did they do ? Anyway, I fixed this problem and got refund, applying for real MOD service successfully. Hope my Dad can enjoy watching sport games from next week.

Career Plan ?

Today was supposed to be the deadline for me to choose a company to work on. However, I couldn't make a final decision in 3 of them. Tonight, I had a dinner with my friends, Sun, Maxwell, and 方丈. They all had some ideas in terms of game industry. So, moreover, I got a chance to join a project which is kind of the 4th choice. The weakness would be low salary and welfare, and would be likely to get failed in the future because of its high risk. On the other hand, this would also be the only chance I can handle a project to do what I wanna do regarding a game platform upon MOD.

Interview

Finally, I finished the last interview. It was a fantastic ending. I talked with interviewer for 2 hours. He is a great .Net MVP so is definitely full of excellent ideas for how to design programs and debug. Moreover, in spite of his just staying in this company for 1 year, he did very good job and got highly trust from the 2 bosses.

I'm not good at .Net language, frankly. But I think I'll choice this job for improving myself in order to make better life after 3 years or even 10 years although I still have the others 2 jobs to choice, which are easier to work and even having higher salaries.

I hope I can make a best choice for myself.

Interview

Interviewing trip is getting to the end. I still can't tell what I want, what I want to be and my career plan. Dreams, interests, salaries, welfares, visions, locations, cultures, etc are some things I need concern about, including salary for sure.

After finishing 2 interviews today, I can tell I can't choose the tough one cus I'm not young any more and not so healthy at present even though it's almost the top company in Taiwan, probably in the world.

Maybe I'll choose the game company again. I still have high interests in game designing.

Rio

My good friend, Riao, gave me a free treat in this famous restaurant, Rio (里約Rio西餐廳), in Sanchong. It's very delicious, seriously, including the salad, soup, main dish, drink, and the dessert. This was the first time I met him since I came back to Taiwan.

I visited his new house in the beginning. I admired his braveness cus the price of the house in Taipei has been damn high for a long time; meanwhile I also envied he could have his own house. We talked for the whole afternoon time and couldn't stop. He is my good friend so I gave him my key chain of Canada and the real maple leaf. Hope I can give him good lucks and get good lucks from him as well.

推薦序／李家同：我從不做生涯規劃

　《天下雜誌》要出一本書，書中全是哈佛大學商學院教授現身說法，說他們自己的故事。《天下雜誌》也請我寫一篇文章，講講我的故事，我是一個非常普通的人，一生也沒有什麼非常特別的遭遇，我想了半天，決定寫一個我的特色：我從不立志，也不做什麼人生規劃。

　我很小的時候，有過志向，那時最想做的是當警察，因為警察的制服很漂亮，在街上一副很神氣的樣子。再長幾歲，我就不再立志了。因為我從小就發現一點點立志沒有什麼用，如果我立志做一個非常普通的人，那個志願一定可以達到，我在小學的時候，就發現要有非常大的成就，絕非易事，只有少數人會表現得非常傑出，我何必立志去做偉大的科學家或是文學家呢？也虧得如此，我現在已是快七十歲的老頭了，如果當年曾經立志要出人頭地，現在是要宣布失敗的時間了。

　我不但沒有立過大志，也從未分析過我的興趣，說實話，我從來不知道最適合我的工作是什麼，我念中學的時候，沒有生涯規劃這個玩意兒，更沒有興趣分析這一門。回想起來，沒有做這種分析，我也沒有蒙受太大的損失，為什麼呢？因為我們事實上是不太可能知道興趣之所在的。

　舉一個例，我當年念電機，是因為對無線電有興趣，不懂電磁波是怎麼一回事，等到念了電機系，才知道念電機必須數學非常好，電磁波就是一個典型的例子，數學不好，休想搞懂電磁波。很多同學在高中時數學考得不錯，就以為他將來可以念數學，其實大學的數學非常抽象，很少中學生在中學的時候，就能了解數學系念的是什麼東西。

有的時候，我們即使非常清楚地知道興趣何在，也用不上。舉例來說，很多人喜歡寫作，但是誰能靠寫作為生呢？

　我雖然不做生涯規劃，卻有一個好處，總把目前的工作做好，我認為這樣就夠了，做學生的時候，我好好地念書，這使得我比較輕鬆地拿到了博士學位，拿到博士學位以後，我沒有四處找事，第一個單位給我一個工作，我就去做了。那個工作是要做研究的，我就全力以赴，使我在研究上開始小有名氣。當時我在美國，幾乎所有在美國的留學生都不肯回國工作，理由很簡單，當時國內的環境太差，和美國沒得比。我回國以前毫無規劃，只知道我喜歡替中國人做事。完全沒有想到的是回國以後，在清華大學的幾十年內，我的學術聲望提高了很多，如果我留在美國，決不會有現在的學術聲望。

　我做暨南大學校長的時候，總以為自己可以做很久，沒有想到，沒幾個月就鞠躬下台了，這也是無法規劃的事，但是我也無所謂，我現在是一個陽春教授，就全心全意地將書教好，我從來沒有料到，可以在短短幾年內，學了不少新學問。

　總結一句話，生涯是很難規劃的，我們通常會碰到意想不到的事情，但是抓緊機會，將目前的工作做好，你就會在不知不覺中，出人頭地矣。

軟體專案有這些風險: (軟體聖經)
1.先天的時程錯誤(schedule flaw)
2.需求膨脹(requirement inflation)
3.人力流失(employee turnover)
4.規格崩潰(specification breakdown)
5.低生產力(poor productivity)

個人經驗, 公司有不同文化, 專案也有不同屬性, 我遇過的上述情況若發生, 公司的處置對策如下: (S:Scenario, A:Action, R:Result)
S1: 遊戲專案, 時間快截止前發現遊戲不好玩, bug還很多未解決, 開會後決議
A1: 新增功能, 並延長時程
R1: 結果加開更多的功能, 大家脾氣越來越糟, 最後時間延長卻造成生產力下滑, 雖然產品最後還是上線了, 可是前前後後大約流失了一半的專案成員

S2: Web系統, 專案時間快截止前, 過程中逐漸發現很多功能需要新增後才能做到可上線並自動化的程度, 開會後決議
A2: 延長時程, 合理的功能還是得開發, 但堪用即可
R2: 最後延長3次, 上線後問題依然很多, 逐漸穩定, 但還無法做到很自動化, 管理介面也不夠多, 慘的是常常有帳對不起來需要手動並修改資料庫data的情形

S3: 同上情況, 但專案為協助其他部門開發, 算是跨部門的專案, 開會後決議
A3: 延長時程, 並限縮功能, 其餘由被協助部門承接後續開發與上線事宜
R3: 因為其實被協助部門就是因為人力吃緊所以請求技術部門協助, 協同開發案一結束, 接受轉移來的系統, 並無人員有能量承接, 此開發案仍然放在倉庫, 上線日期遙遙無期

以上的情況我感覺不斷地重演時程錯誤的問題, 需求都在過程中越見明朗, 規格也因此陸續增加, 但傳統公司礙於面子問題, 不肯對上司誠實交代"delay"的原因, 使得"說到做到"的次文化重於執行專業, 最後上了一個不是很好用的東西, 使用者使用意願低, 開發人員越來越自卑。這樣的惡性循環, 不知道要嘗過幾次教訓才會受教。

Succulents

My friend introduced me a very talented potter lives in Luodong, Yilan. Those are his design. They're very fashion potteries. I like his art style better than another master. So I bought 2 of them and costed me $600 in total. I think I'd like give one of them to my friend as a gift.

The potter is a Hong Konger, very friendly and humble guy. We ate beef noodle together and talked about cultures. He said "丟~" is a very rude word as well as "噗街~" in Hong Konger.

2012 Taichung Jazz Festival

This was my 4th time to be here to enjoy jazz festival in Taichung. Different from before, I invited some friends. One was my marathon's friend, Takashi, the other one was my ex-coworker. We talked about Taiwan's future. To be honest, we had no positive thinkings of that at all. And then we talked about the city. Definitely, Taichung was one of the best city in Taiwan. I hoped that I could come back to live here in the future.

We also drank a lot of alcohols and ate some BBQs, enjoying in the jazz music. While we wanted to take ubus back to Taipei, we realized that we needed make a long line. When Takashi and I arrived at home, it was around 1:30 am. It's a fantastic event as before.

One more thing, on the way went south to Taichung, I took ubus and watched a movie "失戀33天" so deeply. I liked the characters 黃小仙 and 王小賤 very much. It's absolutely a good story.

TOEIC

I felt the exam was easier than before. I got very terrible scores last year on 2011/02/28, which was 495 only. What's the score I can get for this time ?

Lung-Shan Temple

I met my ex-coworker, Han, and his wife and daughter. I can tell that he was my best friend in my previous company. He was kind, hard working, humble, friendly, easy-going, responsible, etc. He was a great father as well, full of love, giving his family safety and good life without treating himself well.

I respected him in spite of his younger than me. When we worked together, we helped each other a lot, overworking together, and shared knowledge all the time. Some of my ex-coworkers had already quit. I hope they all could get better job and life than before.

The last, I got my mug which symbolized a memory of being with my ex-girlfriend. I left it in my previous company.

Jogging

I went jogging with my friends in the Saturday morning at 6 am. It's very early but I did like go jogging in the early morning, not so hot and not so crowded as well. I had to practice cus I'll join 2012 Taroko Gorge Half Marathon on next Saturday. I took 76 mins for this time. It's around 10 km only but I felt a little bit tired. Therefore I slept until noon after home.

Interview

It was very cool that I got an interview with the other 3 candidates and 2 interviewers. I had to show my advantages in brief but impressive enough to attract the eyes of interviewers. I also learned something from all of them. We described  our opinions on the same topic for couple rounds.

I thought I did good job cus my Mom got a call from this company said that they hoped me to join them. I still couldn't tell what's my final decision so I pended to answer that. I can learn new programming languages on both platforms of iOS and Android but the salary and the welfare was too low for me.

In the afternoon, I got a physical cure for 2 hours. It's very painful.

Interview

I just finished an interview in the morning. I didn't like to join cus the CEO was too young for me. I prefer my future manager    is like my life teacher and could guide me the direction of life as well as the instructions of work. Afterwards, I went to Neihu, waiting for the next interview. I entered this coffee shop, YANNICK, by mistake. I forgot the start time of the interview. I tried to make myself calm down and kept enjoying the great time drinking latte and eating pumpkin millefeuille here. The truth was I had only few interest in the following company.

However, it was different from what I expected. The interviewer was very nice woman and the job was good for me, server-side, SA/SD job, in charge of performance tuning, etc. But sorry that I still refused this job cus I hated on-call job. I couldn't stay in peace after work or on holidays. You never know any call you will get in your off time could ruin your life.

Interview

I got 2 interviews today. I got failed for the first one. Probably was my late for the interview for 10 mins, or my C++ skill wasn't so good enough, even or other candidates were much better than me. So I couldn't pass even I felt very good to talk with 2 interviewers for almost 1 hour.

The second one was a online game company. I felt very strange that the interviewer, Bevis, was so young but his job title was senior manager. In addition, I got some information of this company from my friend before I came here, which said that the employees here weren't so stable. I had some prejudices on this company even though I actually felt good to talk with interviewer. And I thought I did have interests in designing a game of a global web game, spongebob.

My friends also gave me some advices. We went to Nangang and ate delicious dumplings in this restaurant in the night. I still had no ideas how to choose my future job since I got more interviews day by day.

Interview

I missed the time I took bus to North Van or wherever I wanna go. I seldom got lost. Ironically, I couldn't find the bus stop easily at Taipei.

I got an interview in the company of gemalto with 3 foreigners for 1.5 hours. It's an good experience.

Maple Trees

Norquay Park

I am lucky to see a lot of beautiful red maple leaves in Canada before I leave; meanwhile, I also feel sad...

It seems that I'll fall down from the heaven to the hell. When I back to Taiwan, I'll suffering from low-paid and overtime working jobs, hot and humid weather, crowded street and transportation, air and water pollutions, traffic jams...

It's very likely that I'll lose some good friends permanently, particularly my dear roommates and home mother. And definitely I'll miss my elder brother, smiley John, so so much.

Can I stay longer? Yes, but I don't want. I need to move on.
Can I come back? Yes, but it's not very soon. It might be here for my honeymoon.

My life will start over again pretty soon. The life is always going to begin.

Deep Cove

The 3rd time I was here.

Finally, I met my old schoolmate, Chris today. He worked very hard just for saving enough money for the long trip next year. He lost 10 kg in 2 months. It's too crazy...

When we met every member in the Waterfront Station, it's just cloudy outside so we decided to go to Deep Cove in North Vancouver. Fairly luckily, it just spitted sometime when we went hiking. But it started to rain more heavier since we ate donuts and Bistro. Eventually it rained dog and cat at around 6 pm. That's really bad.

We took #211 bus back to downtown and drank coffees in Tim Horton's.

Today's so much fun when hiking, eating, drinking, and playing games together. Just wanna said that "I'll miss you all. My good friends."

Lazy Day

I woke up at 11:30 and had nothing to do. It rained a lot so it's not necessary to think about where to go. Just stayed at home lazily. And eat food with roommates.

We shared my 辛辣麵 for brunch and my pasta and ingredients for lunch. Later on we'll watch a movie. But I'm so sleepy now...

Birthday Party

I had an awesome party at homestay. The party was for my birthday and Dan's long trip in the next week. I got a gift which was a light blue long-sleeve t-shirt and a blessing card. 

Here we had members of Mency, Jodi, Cody, Mireya, Luisa, Minjae, Hyungjin, Dan, and Masaki. We ate dinner, ate chocolate cakes, drank alcohols, dance, played guitar, played games with balloons and cards. It's a long day. Thanks for my dear home mother and roommates, thank you so much for making my long but interesting day. Full of laughs. 

I'm very lucky to be with you all and I wish I will be with you all again in the future. I'll miss you all, love you all.

The party finished at 2:30 am and then I talked with Masaki until 5 am. That's very crazy day. hahaha !

You Paint I Fire

I painted my pottery. It's very colorful. I hope they will still be good colors after firing.

John was a little bit happy cus he got a call from Tina's husband, who is out of control on his emotion, cus he realized that John and Tina seem to love each other. So he tried to warm John but the truth was John didn't call Tina or email to her proactively. What John wanted to say was that's not his problem. There was something wrong in their relationship of Tina and Tina's husband.

Is the true loving coming for John ? Will John and Tina get together ? Let's just wait and see.

It's good news and good day for John, I think, even though John mentioned that's bad news.

Dim Sum

I was late for 30 mins. I didn't know why I went south and made myself further and further away from the restaurant. My friends waited for me for a long time but thankfully they didn't get mad. They still smiled when they saw me. Hahaha.

When I arrived there eventually, Ricky was waiting for me outside  , and Saya and Miwa was sitting inside. I had no idea why Ricky didn't just talk with new friends inside. Maybe he was shy ?

We had a great time to eat dim sum, having Chinese tea, and talked very joyfully here. It's just $11 per each, unbelievable cheap price.

Afterwards, we all didn't have any plan except for me. I needed go home before 6 pm to have an interview via Skype. So we just went to Starbucks for around 1 hour. I learned some Japanese words but the only one I can remember was "cho" which means "very" in Japanese). That was so much fun.

We ate very delicious Indian food, samosa. Our member were John, Shahlla, Paul, Sumi and me. Tina's family was coming from Edmonton but they wouldn't be here today. We laughed almost all the time, particularly till the time when I used Sumi's professional camera,cannon DSLR. It's a series photo function, 10 shots continuously. We did have to do some funny poses in order to make them different. That's so interesting.

This party is for Sumi and me cus we're all leaving. Sumi will leave on 11th Oct and I'll do on 17th Oct.

Thanks for them, especially John, made this wonderful party for us.

After left John's place. Sumi and me went to a new bar, Rogue, near Cambie St / Broadway St. And talked a lot. Hope both of us will keep in touch and have good times after leave here.

The bartender was very kind, nice person. So we took a photo with him. :P
