Event - Cypress Mt

Cypress Mountain. A place which is full of marvels, natures, creatures and dangers.

I made a big mistake. I underestimated the difficulty of Cypress Mt. I guessed that the total distance is around 18 km so I just needed 8 hours to finish it but that was totally wrong.

Actually, I spent 5 hours and arrived on the halfway. That's a ski resort. As soon as I asked some pessengers near here about where I should go in order to reach West Van, it sounded like not very clear. And so was the sign of the Baden Powell Trail for visitors.

Baden Powell Trail is the main trail connects the entrances in North Van and West Van. I just followed this sign on the posts or trees. I doubted whether I was on the right way on occasion until this sign appeared. I went adventure a lot by sixth sense and luckily it's correct in the most of time. Sometimes I asked pessengers.

Blue Gential Lake. Full of leaves of lotus (荷花). I once wondered I should enter the branch from main trail or not cus it will take me some time. But I still gave it a try. Just 300 m, not a big deal. And it's really beautiful.

The reason I doubted I was on the wrong way was just like the picture shown above. How come the road in front of me was like a road ? Like a trail, Baden Powell Trail ?

Again, I can go left and right, but the sign pointed me to go straight. Can you believe that ? I could know what I'll meet later. Maybe there were some snakes or bears, lurking behind the trees.

Even though it's a liitle bit scared for me to come here alone, I still really liked here cus it's very nature place with fresh air, full of flourish plants and creatures.

My trip ended here. Cus I was not sure where to go and I had trouble to check Apple Map on my iPhone (iOS6 sucked, btw). Here came a very nice couple, Canadian husband and Philippine wife, Brian and Feli respectively, gave me a ride from here back to North Van. Brian seemed that wanted to convince me stop keeping going in order to protect me from getting trouble especially I wasn't familiar with this mountain. I accepted his advice and came back to downtown safely. I appreciated them a lot.

If I have a chance, I still wanna go again with some friends and to finish the other part of the trail.
